Malkangiri, Dec 10: Following the recovery of the headless body, Malkangiri police on Wednesday recovered the severed head of the woman from a river near Namakonda village.
According to reports, the severed head was found floating near a riverbank close to a Kanya Ashram in Rakhelguda.
The matter came to light after some locals found the severed head floating in the river and alerted the police regarding the incident.
Upon being informed, a police team reached the site and initiated an investigation. Officers have cordoned off the area and further probe is underway, said sources.

✨Reportedly, a woman’s headless body was recovered on December 4. However, the missing head had remained untraceable until today, fuelling tensions and disputes between two villages- MV-26 and Rakhelguda over the past several days.
Forensic experts are expected to be called in to assist with the examination.
Police sources indicated that they are exploring multiple
angles, including murder and possible disposal of the body in the river to
destroy evidence.
