Bhubaneswar, Dec 25: Odisha is reeling under the impact of dense fog, which has blanketed several districts since early Thursday morning. The heavy fog has severely disrupted daily life, affecting both road and air travel.
In the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, visibility dropped drastically, making it difficult for vehicles to move smoothly. Motorists were forced to drive with headlights on even at 8 am, as visibility was reduced to less than 100 meters. National highways outside the cities witnessed even heavier fog, causing traffic congestion and delays.
Air travel was also hit hard. At the Biju Patnaik
International Airport in Bhubaneswar, no flights could take off or land due to
poor visibility. Several flights were delayed, leaving passengers stranded and

In view of the prevailing conditions, a yellow warning has been issued for multiple districts, urging residents to exercise caution.

overall weather is expected to remain dry, with fog occurring mainly during
early mornings and late nights. On Wednesday, Koraput recorded the state’s
lowest temperature at 6.1°C, highlighting the winter chill gripping the region.
