Bhubaneswar, Sep 28: A low-pressure area formed over the south Myanmar coast and adjoining areas is gradually becoming more organised. It is likely to intensify into a depression over the north Andaman Sea today, according to the IMD's weather forecast.
After developing into a depression, the system may move north-northwestwards during the next two days towards the northeastern Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh.
Strong Winds, Rough Seas In Andaman Sea
Under the influence of the low-pressure area, wind speeds are likely to increase over the Andaman Sea and the Andaman-Myanmar coastal areas. Squally winds of 40-50 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 60 kmph, are likely.
The sea is expected to remain rough to very rough, the weather agency informed.
After developing into a depression, the system may move north-northwestwards during the next two days towards the northeastern Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh.

Under the influence of the low-pressure area, wind speeds are likely to increase over the Andaman Sea and the Andaman-Myanmar coastal areas. Squally winds of 40-50 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 60 kmph, are likely.
The sea is expected to remain rough to very rough, the weather agency informed.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next 48 hours. Those already at sea have been advised to return to the coast.
Rain and thundershowers are likely at several places over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with heavy rainfall possible at some places.
The weather system is not expected to have an impact on Odisha.

However, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning in Odisha from 8:30 am on September 28 to 8:30 am on September 29 for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds, with wind speeds reaching 30-40 kmph, at one or two places in Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Kataka, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj districts.
Bhubaneswar and its adjoining areas are likely to experience partly cloudy skies over the next 24 hours, with the possibility of rain or thunderstorms, according to the weather forecast. The city is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 34°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to remain near 25°C.
