Bhubaneswar, Feb 3: In a bid to boost tourism in the state, Odisha Government has launched luxury caravan tourism at Dhauli.
The Department of Tourism, in collaboration with Sand Pebbles Tour ‘n’ Travels (India) Pvt. Ltd., inaugurated as many as three luxury caravans tourism.
The initiative — a ‘luxurious home-on-wheels’ travel
experience — was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who is
also the Minister for Women and Child Development, Mission Shakti and Tourism.
This marked a significant step towards promoting sustainable tourism in the
state.

Ekamra Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh and Aloka Kumar Maharana, Managing Director, Sand Pebbles Tour ‘n’ Travels (India) Pvt. Ltd. were also present during the launch of the caravans.

✨“In collaboration with the Department of Tourism, we have launched luxury caravans to offer a new way of experiencing Odisha. These caravans combine comfort, flexibility and adventure, while promoting responsible tourism and showcasing the State’s rich natural and cultural heritage,” said Maharana.
“For over three decades, Sand Pebbles has contributed to Odisha’s tourism by developing experiential offerings across culture, wildlife, spiritual and tribal tourism,” he added.
Offering details about the caravan facilities, he said: “The caravans are fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern amenities including recliners, beds, washrooms, Wi-Fi, cooking facilities, GPS tracking and safety features, allowing travellers to explore comfortably and at their own pace.”
The caravan services start from ₹11,111 (per day basis) and covers prominent tourist destinations across the state such as Talsari, Hirakud-Debrigarh, Similipal, Pentha-Bhitarkanika, Mangalajodi-Balugaon-Chilika, Jiranga-Mahendragiri, Baliput-Satkosia, Daringbadi, and Deomali-Putsil-Kolab, spanning coastal, wildlife, hill, and eco-tourism circuits.
