Cuttack, May 17: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has appointed Pravanjan Mullick as the Head Coach of the Senior Men’s Cricket team for the upcoming BCCI Domestic Season 2026‑27. The announcement was made on Sunday, marking a significant step in Odisha’s preparations for the new season.

Mullick brings with him a wealth of coaching experience and a strong track record of success across multiple levels of Odisha cricket. He previously served as the Head Coach of the Odisha Under‑19 team, guiding the side to the Quarterfinals of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy during the 2025‑26 season. His ability to nurture young talent and deliver results at the junior level has been widely appreciated.

In franchise cricket, Mullick was the Head Coach of the Cuttack Panthers in the inaugural Odisha Pro T20 League, where he showcased his tactical acumen and leadership skills. He also steered the Rising Students Club to the championship title in the OCA Club Cricket League, further cementing his reputation as a coach capable of building winning teams.

Beyond his coaching credentials, Mullick has contributed to Odisha cricket administration as a member of the Odisha Senior Men’s Selection Committee for five years. His involvement in team selection has given him deep insights into the strengths and challenges of Odisha cricket, making him well‑placed to take charge of the senior side.

As a player, Mullick represented Odisha with distinction, featuring in 88 First‑Class matches and 56 List‑A matches during his domestic career. Known for his consistency and commitment, he remains one of the respected figures in Odisha cricket circles.

The OCA expressed confidence that Mullick’s appointment will bring stability and renewed energy to the senior team as they gear up for the demanding domestic calendar. His dual experience as a player and coach is expected to help Odisha bridge the gap between potential and performance in national competitions.
