PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi plans to lodge a formal complaint to ICC over alleged misconduct by Indian U19 players in the Asia Cup final.

Pakistan U19 head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed accused India of provocation, while praising his team’s sportsmanship.

Pakistan’s victory marked their first U19 Asia Cup title in 13 years and only their second in history.
Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: After winning the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025, Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) and head of the ACC (Asian Cricket Council) plans to lodge a complaint to ICC for alleged unethical conduct by the Indian U19 players during the final.

Pakistan, Sunday, clinched the U19 Asia Cup trophy against India, courtesy Sameer Minhas' century and some superb bowling. The match concluded with heated tiffs between the players of both the teams. As a result of the incident, Naqvi has decided to lodge a 'formal' complaint to ICC.

Naqvi spoke to the media, saying, “Indian players kept provoking Pakistani players during the U19 Asia Cup final. Pakistan will formally inform the ICC about the incident. Politics and sports should always be kept separate.

” Pakistan U19 head coach, Sarfaraz Ahmed, had the same accusations. He claimed that, despite provocative attempts by the Indian team, Pakistan's team celebrated their victory with sportsmanship and India's actions led to their defeat.

“'We have played against Indian teams that respected cricket. The way the young boys behaved was disrespectful towards the sport. I had clearly told my players that celebrations should be respectful. I wanted the boys to show their ability on the field (with their performance). I told my boys: back yourself, let them do what they are doing,”' he argued.

The same problem had surfaced during the senior men’s Asia Cup a few months ago, when both the Indian and Pakistani cricket teams were found guilty of breaching the code of conduct. This was Pakistan's first win at the U19 Asia Cup in 13 years and the second time they have ever won the title in history.
