New Delhi, Jun 12: Former Asian Games gold medallist and renowned shooting coach Jaspal Rana passed away on Thursday night. He was 49.
According to National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) president Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, Rana breathed his last at a Delhi hospital late last night.
Rana had recently fallen ill during the Indian contingent’s return flight from the ISSF World Cup in Munich, Germany. On arrival in New Delhi, he was immediately hospitalised and underwent a medical procedure involving stent placement. Despite medical intervention, his condition deteriorated and he could not recover.

✨Widely regarded as one of India’s finest shooters, Rana had
won multiple medals at the Asian Games and other international competitions,
earning recognition as a trailblazer in the sport. In recent years, he was
serving as the high-performance coach for Indian pistol shooters, playing a
crucial role in shaping the careers of emerging talents and strengthening
India’s presence in global shooting events.
