Mumbai, Dec 9: The upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction has generated immense buzz with the official release of the player pool.
A total of 350 players (Click Here for the full list of players) will go under the hammer, comprising a mix of capped and uncapped talent from India and overseas. The breakdown reveals the depth and diversity of the talent available this season.
Among the 350, 16 are capped Indian players, while 96 are capped overseas stars, ensuring a strong international flavour. The majority of the pool, however, is dominated by 224 uncapped Indian players, highlighting the growing opportunities for domestic talent. Additionally, 14 uncapped overseas players add further intrigue, offering franchises the chance to discover hidden gems.

of the auction dynamics. At the top tier, 40 players have set their base price
at ₹2 crore, signalling high expectations and proven pedigree. Nine players
fall under the ₹1.5 crore bracket, while four have opted for ₹1.25 crore.

Seventeen players are listed at ₹1 crore, and 42 at ₹75 lakh. Interestingly, only four players have chosen ₹50 lakh, and seven are at ₹40 lakh. The largest group by far is the 227 players priced at ₹30 lakh, making them the most accessible options for franchises looking to balance budgets while scouting potential future stars.
This spread of reserve prices ensures that franchises will
have plenty of flexibility in shaping their squads. Established international
names will attract bidding wars, while the uncapped Indian contingent offers a
chance to unearth the next big sensation. With such a diverse mix, the auction
