Visakhapatnam, Dec 6: India wrapped up the three-match ODI series against South Africa with a commanding nine-wicket victory in the final encounter here on Saturday evening, sealing the series 2–1. The triumph was headlined by Yashasvi Jaiswal’s maiden ODI hundred, a fluent unbeaten 116 off 121 balls, which anchored India’s chase with authority.

 

Chasing 271, India’s opening pair of Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma laid the perfect foundation. The duo stitched together a 155-run stand in just 25.5 overs, effectively breaking South Africa’s resistance. Rohit contributed a brisk 75 off 73 balls, complementing Jaiswal’s composed yet aggressive innings.

 

Once the openers had set the tone, Virat Kohli added the finishing touches with a blistering unbeaten 65 off 45 deliveries. His fluent stroke play ensured India crossed the target in 39.5 overs, finishing at 271 for one. The chase was marked by dominance and control, leaving little doubt about the eventual outcome.
