Opting to bowl first, Zimbabwe’s decision backfired as India piled up a formidable 219/5 in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan anchored the innings with a fluent 81 off 44 balls, while Tilak Varma provided late fireworks with an unbeaten 60 off 29 deliveries. The duo stitched a 94-run stand for the fourth wicket, propelling India past the 200-run mark.

✨In reply, Zimbabwe began brightly with Brian Bennett’s
aggressive 32 off 19 balls, but the chase unraveled quickly as wickets tumbled
in clusters. The hosts were bowled out for 129 in 17.5 overs. Abhishek Sharma
was the standout bowler, claiming 3/17, while debutant Yash Thakur impressed
with 2/30. Prince Yadav also chipped in with two wickets before leaving the
field due to injury.

India’s comprehensive win gave captain Shreyas Iyer his first series triumph in the format. The victory also highlighted India’s depth, with both batting and bowling units contributing significantly.
Zimbabwe skipper Sikandar Raza admitted his side fell short in execution, praising India’s batting quality while acknowledging lapses in fielding. With the series already decided, Zimbabwe will now play for pride in the final T20I scheduled for Sunday.
