Navi Mumbai, Nov 3: Celebrations swept across the nation as the Indian women’s cricket team clinched a historic victory at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Marking this landmark achievement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a Rs 51 crore cash reward for the triumphant squad and their support staff, recognising their exceptional performance and dedication.

Led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian team defeated South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final held at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.

This victory marks India’s first-ever ICC Women’s World Cup title, ending a 47-year wait and igniting celebrations across the nation.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the announcement, stating that the Rs 51 crore reward is a gesture of appreciation for the team’s dedication, resilience, and historic achievement.

The prize money includes both the BCCI’s bonus and the ICC’s winner’s cheque of USD 4.48 million, part of the tournament’s total prize pool of USD 13.88 million.

“The team has made the country proud. This reward is a token of our gratitude for their hard work and the inspiration they’ve provided to millions,” said Saikia.

The cash prize will be distributed among the players, coaching staff, and other key support personnel who contributed to the team’s success.
