Puri, Jul 17: All three chariots of the Holy Trinity reached Saradhabali in front of the Gundicha Temple on Friday after Lord Jagannath's Nandighosha arrived at around 2:45pm, completing the second day's Rath Yatra procession amid resounding chants of "Jai Jagannath".

The pulling of the chariots resumed at 9:30 am after the procession was halted on Thursday evening due to fading light.

Thousands of devotees lined the Bada Danda (Grand Road) to witness the sacred journey and participate in the ceremonial pulling of the chariots. The procession drew massive crowds as devotees offered prayers and sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.

On Thursday evening, Lord Balabhadra's Taladhwaja had reached Fire Station Chhak, Devi Subhadra's Darpadalana had halted at Marichikote Chhak, while Lord Jagannath's Nandighosha had moved only a short distance from the Singhadwara before the day's procession was suspended.

Adapa Bije Postponed
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Arabinda Kumar Padhee said the Adapa Bije ritual would not be held on Friday.

"The Adapa Bije ritual cannot be held today and will instead take place on Saturday," Padhee said.

Procession Halted on Thursday
The Rath Yatra procession was suspended on Thursday evening after authorities decided against continuing the chariot pulling in low-light conditions. The decision was taken following the advice of the Bhoi Sardar, keeping in view the safety of the lakhs of devotees gathered on the Grand Road.

Despite intermittent drizzle, an estimated 10 to 12 lakh devotees had assembled in Puri for the annual festival.

The deities remained atop their chariots under the open sky throughout Thursday night, allowing thousands of pilgrims to have darshan of the Holy Trinity before the procession resumed on Friday morning.
