Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Feb 19 : In a landmark moment for Delhi’s political landscape, Rekha Gupta is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister on Thursday, marking a new chapter in the capital’s governance. The grand swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Ramlila Maidan.
The event will witness the presence of eminent political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.In addition Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena,who will administer the oath,will also be in attendance.
Gupta will only be the second BJP CM in Delhi after late Sushma Swaraj, who was appointed as the Delhi CM from October 1998 to December 1998 (52 days). She will also be the fourth woman CM of Delhi after Swaraj, late Sheila Dikshit of Congress (December 1998 to December 2013) and AAP leader Atishi Marlena.
Notably Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marks its triumphant return to power in Delhi after nearly three decades. To ensure a seamless and secure event, over 25,000 security personnel will be strategically deployed across the venue.
