Bhubaneswar, Dec 15: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has expelled senior Odisha Congress leader Mohammad Moquim from the party’s primary membership, following allegations of engaging in activities that violated party discipline.

The decision, approved by the AICC Disciplinary Committee, comes after a formal proposal was submitted by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Bhakta Charan Das.

According to information shared by news agency ANI, the AICC reviewed the allegations against Moquim, which reportedly involved actions considered detrimental to the party’s interests.

After examining the PCC’s recommendation and internal reports, the AICC concluded that Moquim’s conduct amounted to anti‑party activities, warranting strict disciplinary action.

His expulsion marks a significant development in Odisha’s political landscape, especially at a time when the Congress is attempting to strengthen its organizational structure ahead of upcoming electoral challenges.
