Students Protest / Dharmendra Pradhan Slams Rahul Gandhi, Accuses Congress of Politicizing Student Issues

New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, Jul 22: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has sharply criticized Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of exploiting students for political gain and creating disruption in Parliament during the ongoing monsoon session.

In a post on X, Union Minister Pradhan alleged that Gandhi and the Congress party were deliberately instigating chaos instead of engaging in constructive debate.

He said that despite the government’s readiness for a full discussion on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and youth-related issues, the opposition was more interested in grabbing headlines.

Dharmendra Pradhan condemned the Congress protest outsidethe Prime Minister’s residence, calling it a violation of security protocols and an inconvenience to the public. He described the move as “political theatrics” rather than genuine concern for students.

“The government is 100% committed to a comprehensive discussion in Parliament on NEET and the concerns of the youth. Students deserve stability instead of uncertainty, solutions instead of sloganeering, and responsible conduct instead of disorder,” Union Minister Pradhan stated.

He emphasized that the government is actively working to provide transparency, reforms, and accountability in the examination system. According to him, the opposition’s approach is not aimed at solving student issues but at creating confrontation for political mileage.

The Union Education Minister further added that the government is determined to safeguard the future of young people by ensuring fairness and reforms in the education system. “Our government will not compromise with the future of students. We are committed to providing clarity, reforms, and justice,” he said.

The remarks come amid heightened tensions in Parliament, where opposition parties have repeatedly disrupted proceedings over the NEET row. While Congress insists that the government has failed to address students’ grievances, the ruling party maintains that it is open to dialogue and reform but unwilling to tolerate what it calls “political drama.”
