'Zeenat' Tranqulized in WB Forest, To Be Brought To Simlipal

Mayurbhanj, Dec 29: After many days of efforts, forest officials finally tranquilized tigress Zeenat and enclosed her in a cage in the Purulia jungle in West Bengal. 'Zeenat' will be brought to Simlipal sanctuary soon, said forest officials.
According to sources, the tigress was still unconscious. She was tranquilized when she approached Purulia Dam, probably to drink water. A group of forest teams had kept vigil on the tigress's movements for many days.
Zeenat, brought from Maharashtra, was released in the Simlipal jungle. But she didn't stay in Similipal and moved to the jungles of neighboring States Jharkhand and West Bengal. In a few weeks, she is believed to have covered a distance of about 150 km.
