Bhubaneswar, Mar 19: YouTuber and vlogger Saroj Kumar Mishra, known as Tapi Mishra, has been arrested Wednesday by Infocity Police for allegedly abusing Banasmita Pati, a renowned Odia author.

Tapi Mishra has reportedly been forwarded to the Court for judicial proceedings, and further investigation is underway.

According to reports, Banasmita Pati had condemned a controversial statement made by the self-proclaimed Odia actor on March 17 through a comment on a social media post. The comment didn’t go well with Tapi Mishra, who, in response, allegedly used obscene language to harass the author publicly.

The renowned author then reported the matter to the Infocity Police Station and registered an official complaint. The police reportedly traced the offensive social media comments before verifying the nature of the comment.

The reports say that the comment was aimed to sexually harass and tarnish author Bansmita Pati’s reputation.
