Berhampur, Aug 19: In a shocking incident, a youth reportedly killed her tiny sister by slitting her throat on Monday when his friends, villagers, and other fellowmen were celebrating Rakshi Purnina with a promise to protect their sisters.
The horrific incident occurred in the Badabazaar area of the silk city here. The deceased was identified as Prajakta Panigrahi (13), a resident of the Nimakhandi Lochapada area.
According to the informaiton Prajakta Panigrahi and her elder brother Ashutosh, a B Pharma student, had come to their elder father's house at Lane 7, Jagannath Vihar under the Bada Bazaar police station limits to attend Shradha (Yearly Death Ritual) event. Prajakta along with other cousins tied Rakshi to Ashutosh.
While seniors of the family were on the ground floor, Prajakta, Ashutosh and other children were on the first floor. At this time, Ashutosh stabbed Prajakta in the neck. As Ayushman came to her rescue, Ashutosh also attacked him. Ashutosh fled from the spot soon.
Family members rushed the two critically injured children to MKCG Medical College and Hospital soon. Doctors there declared Prajakta dead. Later, Ayushman was shifted to a private medical given his critical condition.

✨Erant Ashutosh, who fled from the spot, met with an accident at Pochilima. A was growling in pain after being hit by a bus there.
Locals rescued him and rushed him to the Hinjikatu Medical. Later he was shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital because of his critical condition.
The exact reason behind the horrific incident is yet to be known.
