Bhawanipatna, Aug 8: A youth was allegedly murdered following a heated verbal altercation among a group of youths near Ghoda Ghat Square in Kalahandi's Bhawanipatna late last night.

The deceased has been identified as resident of Dayanidhi Square, Bhawanipatna.

According to reports, minor dispute escalated between the victim and a group of youths. The situation turned ugly after the argument turned into violence, resulting in the fatal attack.

On being informed, Town Police reached the spot and launched a preliminary investigation.

While the motive and identities of the assailants remain unclear, police are examining CCTV footage and questioning locals.
