Sundargarh, Apr 10: A 21-year-old youth was brutally attacked and killed by a group of assailants at VSS Market in Chhend Colony area in Sundargarh district.

The assailants reportedly attacked the victim, identified as Mukesh Kar, and his friend Rishi Prasad.

According to reports, the attack stemmed from an earlier altercation between the victims and a group of youths from the Malgodam area. Seeking revenge, the miscreants attacked the victims when they were out in the market. Following the attack, Mukesh succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while Rishi was left severely injured and is currently undergoing treatment.

The whole incident was captured in the CCTV instaled in the market area.

Taking note of the report, police have initiated an investigation and are analyzing the CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the culprits. The incident has left residents of the area in shock, sparking concerns over rising crime and safety in public spaces.
