Boudh, Dec 24: In a tragic incident, a biker was killed while overtaking a vehicle on National Highway-57 under the Puruna Kataka police station limits in Boudh district today. 

The deceased has been identified as Ramchandra Das of Gurudipali village. 

According to the information, Ramchandra was going by a motorcycle from Puruna Cuttack towards Charichhak when he tried to overtake a large vehicle. However, he came in front of a speeding truck, leading to a head-on collision. He was critically injured. 

Fire service personnel rushed him to the Purunakataka hospital. However, doctors declared him dead. 

While the truck driver managed to flee from the spot, police reached the spot and started an investigation.
