Ganjam, May 25: A youth was found hanging inside a house in Podapalli area under Dharakot of Ganjam district today.

The deceased has been identified as Simanchal Palai (26), a mason from Baliarsara village.

According to reports, Simanchal had been working on various home construction projects under different contractors.

Reports suggest that he had recently been engaged in construction work at a house belonging to the sister of one Pankaj Pradhan in Kabir Surya Nagar. Simanchal allegedly visited Pradhan’s residence in Podapalli the previous day to demand his pending wages. Later, he was discovered hanging in the house under suspicious circumstances.

His family members claim foul play, alleging that he was murdered over financial disputes.

Following their complaint, Dharakot police arrived at the scene, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination at Asika Medical College.

Authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident.
