Bhubaneswar, Apr 1: A youth was found hanging from a tree inside Madhusudan park at Pokhariput area in Bhubaneswar Tuesday morning.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

According to reports, the matter came to fore after some locals spotted the body and informed the local police, which then rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Sources indicated the circumstances of the incident could be suicide. However, police have said that the cause of death will be ascertained after conducting a post-mortem of the body.

In another incident, a highly decomposed body of a woman was recovered in the forest near Malda under Koida Police Station in Sundargarh district

According to reports, the incident came to light when locals, out to collect firewood, noticed a foul smell and stumbled upon the body. The locals immediately alerted the matter to police, who then along with the scientific team, rushed to the spot and initiated a probe.

Police have initially suggested the deceased is a woman, however her identity remains unclear due to the advanced state of decomposition.

While the exact cause behind the death of the woman is yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigation suggest that the woman was assaulted, and subsequently murdered. Later, the body was dumped in the forest, suspect the police.
