Bhubaneswar, July 22: In a tragic incident, a young man allegedly ended his life by jumping in front of a moving train near Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar, Odisha while streaming the act live on social media, family members said on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar Maharana, the only son of Madhabananda Maharana of Satabatia village under Salipur police limits in Cuttack district.
He was reportedly running a travel agency in Bhubaneswar.
According to sources, Sunil had been suffering from mental distress, the cause of which remains unclear. On the day of the incident, he recorded a live video before taking the fatal step, which has since gone viral and sparked widespread concern.
