Puri, May 14: A youth drowned while taking bath in Narendra Pokhari, a holy tank situated near the Jagannath Temple in Odisha's pilgrim town Puri, today.

The identity of the deceased was not known immediately.

According to reports, the victim had gone to take bath in the holy pond when he slipped into the deep water and went missing.

Soon, the locals informed the fire services department which immediately reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. After a hour of search operation, the fire personnel fished out the body from the water and rushed him to Puri District Hospital where he was declared dead.
