Balasore, Jul 18: Tensions continue to rise in Bhograi following the death of a female student from Fakir Mohan College, as police have detained one individual in connection with allegations of defamation and inappropriate remarks circulated on social media.

The action comes in response to a formal complaint filed by the victim’s brother, who alleged that defamatory and obscene comments targeting his late sister were being shared online.

The complainant alleged that four individuals shared defamatory and obscene remarks targeting the deceased on various social media platforms, contributing to the psychological distress she faced.

After preliminary investigation, one suspect was taken into custody for interrogation.

Bhograi police have detained a youth for allegedly posting defamatory and obscene content on social media targeting the deceased.

Sources suggest that the remaining individuals named in the complaint are under scrutiny as part of the ongoing investigation.
