Ganjam, Sep 6: A youth was brutally murdered over suspected past enmity at Thuruburai village near Sheragada police station in Hinjili block, Ganjam district.

The deceased youth has been identified as Chandan Bisoyi, a resident of P. Jagannathpur village under Patapur police limits.

According to reports, the matter came to fore after some locals spotted Chandan in a pool of blood and informed the same to the police.

Police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the incident.

While the exact cause behind the murder of the youth was not known immediately, locals suspect that Chandan might have been killed over longstanding personal rivalry.

Police have launched an investigation into the case, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.

Authorities are expected to release more details following the postmortem and interrogation of potential suspects.
