Puri, Aug 5: A youth sustained critical injuries after some unidentified miscreants attacked him with a sharp weapon near Bapuji Club in Balishahi Harijan Sahi, Puri.

The victim has been identified as Bunty Nayak.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers fled the scene immediately after the assault, leaving Bunty severely wounded.

He was immediately rescued and rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Puri, where he remains in critical condition.

The Town Police Station has launched an investigation into the incident. Police officials are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and questioning locals to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the attack.

Sources suggest that the assault may be linked to a longstanding personal dispute, though police have not ruled out other possibilities.

The incident has sparked concern among residents of Balishahi, who are demanding increased patrolling and security measures in the area.
