Jharsuguda, August 1: A middle-aged woman has been rescued from Mahanadi river Thursday near Palsada Village in Jharsuguda district.
The woman is a native of Porath village under Pusaur Police Station limits in Raygarh district in Chhattisgarh.
She came floating about 15 kms from Porath village before being rescued by the fishermen near Palsada village. Iron shackles were attached to the woman's ankles when she was rescued. She is reportedly fine.

✨However, the identity of the woman and how she came floating such a long way are under investigation. Suspicions arise that the woman may be mentally ill. Despite being fine, she was sent to hospital for treatment.
