Cuttack, July 31:  A woman teacher reportedly ended her life by jumping into Kathajodi River from the Netaji Subhas Bose Setu this morning. 

The suspicion of suicide came to some morning walkers' minds as they saw a scooty with its key and a pair of chappals on the bridge. They soon informed the police. 

During the preliminary investigation, the Markat Nagar police knew that the scooty belonged to one Mamata Sahoo of the city's Odia Bazaar area. Her family members said Mamata moved out of the house with her scooty early this morning, without taking her mobile phone and saying anything to family members. 

However, they said there was no quarrel or misunderstanding within the family. She was working as a teacher in a private school at the Barabati stadium. 

Fire and ODRAF personnel have started a search operation.
