Balasore, Feb 17: A woman was burnt alive when her saree caught fire while cooking in Kudamansingh village under Baliapala police station limits in Balasore district this morning. 

According to the information, Jayanti Barik was cooking in her house when the mishap occured. Due to negligence, her saree caught fire. Soon the fire spread in the entire house and it was reduced to ashes. 

Police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
