Berhampur, May 26: In a heartrending incident, a woman lost her husband to a road accident on the day of Sabitri Brata in Ganjam district today.

The incident, which claimed two precious lives, occurred at Lathipada village under the Sorada police station limits in the district. The victim was identified as Birachi Bhuyan of Sihamdran village.

According to the information, Biranchi Bhuyan was on his way from Bhanjanagarto Soraja when his motorcycle collided head-on with two motorcycles near Lathipada Jagannath Temple. Biranchi and another biker died in the incident. Biranchi was coming home to attend his wife's Sabitri Brata.

The death of Biranchi hasn't only shocked his wife but also the villagers, as fatal road accidents seem to be rising in Ganjam and the State nowadays.

Police have reached the spot and started an investigation.
