Keonjhar, Jul 14: A woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her house at Rungta Mines Colony in Keonjhar's Barbil on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Nirmala Sharma, wife of Neel Prasad Sharma, Assistant Manager of Rungta company.

While the exact cause behind the death of the woman was not known immediately, preliminary reports suggest the death may be linked to a domestic dispute.

According to reports, Nirmala was discovered unconscious in her official quarters. The victim was rescued and rushed to Barbil Community Health Centre. However, doctors declared her brought dead on arrival. Durig this, injury marks were found on multiple parts of her body, raising concerns of physical assault.

Followinf this, Barbil police detained Neel for further questioning.

Investigators are probing the events of the previous night, when a heated argument is believed to have occurred between the couple.

The couple has two children- a daughter pursuing higher education in Bhubaneswar, and a son studying in Class 10 at a private school in Barbil. The son was reportedly present at home during the incident.

Police have launched a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of death and whether it constitutes homicide.
