Balasore, Apr 21: The dead body of a woman was found afloat in the Chandan pond of Badamandaruni village under Karmada police station limits in Balasore district this morning.

The deceased woman has been identified as Janhavi Gochayat, the daughter of Bhagabat Mardha of the same village. 

According to the informaton, Janhavi was residing in her paternal home even after her marriage. She took alms to earn her daily bread. 

The locals noticed her dead body floating in the pond. Police reached the spot and rescued the body with the help of fire brigade. 

However, the exact reason behind the woman's death is yet to be ascertained.
