Bhubaneswar, Sep 16: A shocking incident of public harassment has surfaced from Garage Chhak, where a young woman was allegedly subjected to indecent behaviour by a co-passenger inside an auto-rickshaw.

The matter came to light after the auto driver and the woman filed a complaint at the Badagada police station.

According to eyewitness accounts and the auto driver’s exclusive statement to Argus News, the youth boarded the auto from Kalpana Chhak. A few minutes later, the woman also got into the same vehicle. During the ride, the youth allegedly began misbehaving with her, using vulgar language and issuing threats when she protested.

The auto driver reportedly asked the youth to get off the vehicle, but instead of complying, the accused allegedly followed the woman after she disembarked and attempted to harass her again on the roadside. The woman was frightened by the incident, but no bystanders intervened during the ordeal.

Following the incident, the youth fled the scene. The woman later approached Badagada police station and filed a formal complaint. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the accused.
