Bhubaneswar, Jul 25: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall alert for several districts of the state.
According to IMD's latest bulletin, the well-marked low pressure has concentrated into a Depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of coastal West Bengal and Bangladesh.
Under the influence of this, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of the state.
Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts are likely to witness extremely heavy rainfall, as the weather agency has issued a Red Alert for both regions.
Authorities are advised to remain on high alert for potential flooding, waterlogging, and landslides in these vulnerable areas.
Similarly, the IMD has issued orange Warning for 10 districts including Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur.
Moreover, a yellow alert has been issued for the remaining districts, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall in scattered locations.
