Bhubaneswar, May 21: The Indian Meteorological Department's regional centre has predicted light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning across 18 districts of the state.

According to the IMD's latest bulletin, wind speeds are expected to reach 40 to 50 km/h.

The department has issued an orange warning for 8 districts and a yellow warning for 13 districts.

On May 22, 7 districts will be under an orange warning, while 13 districts will have a yellow warning. Similarly, on May 23, 4 districts will be placed under an Orange Alert.

Additionally, the weather department has forecast the formation of two low-pressure systems in the last week of May, which could further impact the region. The monsoon winds are expected to reach the Kerala coast within 4 to 5 days, earlier than the usual June 1 arrival.
