Bhubaneswar, Jul 19: The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall across Odisha in the next 24 hours, accompanied by thunder and lightning. In anticipation of the weather shift, a yellow warning has been issued for 30 districts.
Districts under alert include Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Koraput, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kandhamal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, and Malkangiri.
Officials at the Met Centre stated that winds from the southwest Bay of Bengal are moving toward Odisha, bringing with them increased moisture. This moisture is contributing to the formation of a low-pressure system, which is likely to intensify rainfall beginning July 20 and continue through July 24.
