According to reports, for 24 hours, villagers of Patakhulia in Chandahandi block were left without clean water after a local contractor allegedly locked two tube wells, depriving residents of their basic necessity.

Villagers reported that the contractor verbally abusing them when they tried to remove the locks to access water. Frustrated by the ordeal, locals filed written complaints with the Chandahandi police station and the Tahasildar's office.

Promptly addressing the issue, Tahasildar Sahadev Kutruka visited the village, investigated the incident, and ensured the tube wells were reopened for public use.

The sudden disruption created a water crisis, with villagers struggling to find alternative sources of water. Questions arise about the contractor's audacious action and the lack of immediate oversight that allowed such an incident to occur.
