Keonjhar, Mar 18: In a heartrending incident, a Class II girl died as a house wall collapsed on her at Badarampas village under Anandapur sub-division in Keonjhar district this morning.

The deceased was identified as eight-year-old Snehalata Sahu. Snehalata had been staying in maternal grandfather Anand Sahu's since her father passed away a few years back.

According to the information, Snehalata was preparing herself to go to school to write her annual exam when a mud wall of her house caved in. She came under the debris.

Villagers, who were engaged in roofing their thatched house, rescued her and rushed her to the Anandpur Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, as luck would have it, doctors doctors declared her dead.

In the incident, the five-year-old grandson of Anand Sahu was also injured.

The incident has shocked the family.
