Burla, Mar 26: A professor of Humanities department at Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla has been placed under suspension for his alleged misconduct.

According to reports, the University authorities suspended Dr. Jayaprakash Paramaguru, a Humanities professor, on grounds of repeated absenteeism and alleged misconduct.

Sources said that the professor failed to attend lectures consistently and was reportedly seen arriving at the office in an inebriated state on multiple occasions.

The University administration stated that while under suspension, Dr. Paramaguru will not be allowed to conduct classes.

As part of the disciplinary measures, he must register his attendance twice daily through the biometric system during working days and cannot remain absent from the campus without prior approval from higher authorities.
