Bhubaneswar, Mar 29: Sujata R Karthikeyan, IAS officer and wife of bureaucrat-turned-politician V K Pandian, has taken the voluntary retirement from service (VRS).

According to reports, the senior officer had submitted her application to the central government 15 days back, which has reportedly approved her request. However, no confirmation has been made regarding the development.

Karthikeyan, a 2000-batch IAS officer, has previously served as the Special Secretary in the Odisha Finance Department.​

Notably, Sujata resumed her duties after taking a six-month leave to focus on her daughter’s 10th-grade studies. Although she had applied for an extension of her leave, the BJP-led government rejected her request. Following this, she returned to work as the Principal Secretary of the Finance Department.
