Puri, July 29: A new digital initiative has introduced VIP darshan services for devotees of Lord Jagannath, allowing access to the sanctum of the revered temple without the hassle of long queues. For ₹1000, devotees can bypass waiting lines and enter directly, aided by a temple sevak who guides them through the rituals and history of the shrine.

The VIP package includes sacred offerings such as Tulsi leaves and flowers for Mahaprabhu, along with an opportunity to receive prasad from inside the temple. Devotees are reportedly being offered access to the famed Chhappan Bhog, depending on the time slot booked through an app named "Hari Om".

Email communications from this app have been circulating since July 27, offering paid booking slots and promising a curated temple experience.

While the convenience has been appreciated by many, the legitimacy of the 'Hari Om' app remains unclear. Temple authorities have not issued any formal statement regarding its endorsement, raising concerns over commercialization and equitable access to spiritual services.

Historically, pilgrims have braved harsh weather and long hours in queues for a glimpse of Lord Jagannath, making this shift toward app-based, slot-driven entry significant.

As slot bookings reportedly fill up fast, devotees are urged to proceed with caution and seek confirmation from official sources before making payments or sharing personal details online.
