Sambalpur, July 26: A monsoon outing turned tragic on Friday when two final-year MBBS students from Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, drowned at the Debjharan Waterfall in Odisha’s Sambalpur district.
The victims have been identified as Monika Meena and Sandeep Puri.
According to sources, a group of six final-year MBBS students of VIMSAR visited the popular tourist spot for a day trip. The victim duo slipped while navigating the rocky terrain near the waterfall and were swept away by strong currents.
