Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: In a resounding victory for grassroots sports development, Vedanta Aluminium’s Lanjigarh Archery Initiative has emerged as the ‘Overall Champion’ at the Odisha School Archery Championship 2025, officials said on Friday.
Held in Sundargarh and organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), the event saw young archers from Kalahandi district secure an impressive haul of 12 medals — 8 Gold, 3 Silver, and 1 Bronze — showcasing their exceptional skill and determination.
Launched in 2018, Vedanta’s Sports Training Initiative has been a beacon of hope for aspiring athletes from underserved communities. With expert coaching, world-class equipment, and exposure to competitive platforms, the programme has nurtured over 100 young archers, who have collectively won more than 50 medals at state and national levels in the past year alone.
