Bhubaneswar, Sep 18: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has taken a significant step toward strengthening rural education in Odisha through its flagship initiative, Project Vidya. The company has appointed 10 additional teachers across 10 government schools in the Kuraloi region of Jharsuguda district, aiming to improve student–teacher ratios and enhance learning outcomes in core subjects like Maths, Science, and English.

The formal appointment ceremony was held at Khairkuni High School, attended by local dignitaries including Sanatna Naik, Sarpanch of Kuraloi, AJKA representatives, community leaders, school headmasters, and members of School Management Committees. The initiative is expected to benefit over 1000 students across primary, upper primary, ashram, and high schools in Piplimal, Kuraloi, and Banjari panchayats.

This expansion builds on the success of Project Vidya’s earlier phase in April 2025, which saw 22 teachers deployed across 20 schools in Ghogharpalli and Jamkhani, positively impacting more than 2000 students. Vedanta’s continued efforts reflect its commitment to foundational learning and equitable access to quality education in rural Jharsuguda.
