Bhawanipatna, June 27: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has conducted a community health camp at Sibapadar Gram Panchayat in Lanjigarh, reaching more than 300 residents from ten neighbouring villages in Kalahandi district. The initiative aimed to provide accessible healthcare to communities with limited medical facilities.

The camp offered free doctor consultations, basic screenings, and essential medicines, enabling early diagnosis and treatment. Services included blood pressure checks, weight measurement, and BMI assessments. A team of three specialist doctors ensured quality diagnosis and personalised guidance across a range of health concerns.

Beyond treatment, the camp promoted preventive healthcare awareness, educating residents on essential practices and the importance of timely medical intervention. The initiative underscored Vedanta Aluminium’s commitment to strengthening grassroots healthcare and improving overall well‑being.

Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, Lanjigarh, said, “Accessible healthcare is fundamental to building strong and resilient communities. Through such initiatives, we are committed to delivering essential medical services at the grassroots, promoting preventive care, and enhancing the overall well‑being of the communities we serve.”

Local leaders also welcomed the effort. Prakash Karasika, Sarpanch of Sibapadar Gram Panchayat, shared his experience: “I had been facing ongoing health concerns and found it difficult to access proper medical care due to our remote setting. Through Vedanta’s health camp, I was able to consult experienced doctors, receive proper diagnosis, and get the required medicines. This initiative has greatly benefited many people like me.”

Vedanta Aluminium continues to expand its outreach across healthcare, education, infrastructure, sports, and sustainable livelihoods. In Kalahandi and Rayagada districts alone, its interventions have benefitted more than 1.2 lakh individuals, reflecting its sustained focus on inclusive development and improved access to essential services.
