Vedanta Lanjigarh Achieves 93% Placement for F&B Trainees

Bhawanipatna, Sep 16: Vedanta Aluminium on Tuesday announced a 93% job placement rate for the 21st batch of its Food & Beverage (F&B) training program in Bhawanipatna, Odisha.


Conducted in partnership with the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA), the initiative trained 27 youth, empowering them with industry-ready skills and opening doors to sustainable livelihoods.

 

Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has been driving grassroots development through its flagship skill training centre in Lanjigarh. The program is part of a broader collaboration with OSDA and NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development), aiming to train over 1,200 rural youth over three years.

 

Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO of Vedanta Alumina Business, emphasized the transformative impact of skilling: “Initiatives like these bridge the gap between rural potential and mainstream opportunities. This milestone reflects our commitment to driving positive change in Kalahandi.”

So far, over 750 youth have been trained under the initiative, which combines vocational training with entrepreneurial and employment avenues. The program has significantly boosted family incomes and integrated youth into the socio-economic mainstream.

 

Vedanta’s skilling efforts align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1 (“No Poverty”) and SDG 8 (“Decent Work and Economic Growth”). It also supports the national vision of Viksit Bharat, promoting inclusive development and rural entrepreneurship.

 

With its strong placement record and community-driven approach, Vedanta Lanjigarh’s training centre continues to be a beacon of hope for youth in Kalahandi, transforming potential into progress.
