Nutrition supplement developed by National Dairy Development Board, aligned with ICMR-NIN guidelines
Integrated with Vedanta’s Nand Ghar programme providing education, healthcare, and skill development
Bhubaneswar, Dec 6: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest producer of Aluminium, has reinforced its commitment to early childhood well-being with the launch of Shishu Sanjeevani, a fortified nutritional supplement programme across 25 Anganwadi centres in Kashipur and Bhawanipatna, benefitting more than 600 children aged 3 to 6 years, officials said on Saturday.
Developed by National Dairy Development Board, Shishu
Sanjeevani is enriched with essential micronutrients aligned with the ICMR-NIN
guidelines, ensuring safe and consistent nutritional intake under the
supervision of Anganwadi workers. This initiative aims to strengthen the
nutritional foundation of children during their formative years, reducing
malnutrition and supporting holistic growth.
This programme complements Vedanta’s flagship Nand Ghar
initiative, launched in 2015 under the aegis of the Anil Agarwal Foundation in
partnership with the Ministry of Women & Child Development. Through Nand
Ghars, Vedanta has modernised Anganwadi infrastructure nationwide, creating
safe and well-equipped early learning spaces. In Odisha alone, 531 Nand Ghars
provide preschool education, nutritious meals and take-home rations, basic
healthcare through Auxiliary Nurse Midwives, and skill-building programmes for
women.
