Bhubaneswar, June 19: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has organized summer camps across 12 government schools in Jamkhani and Ghogharpalli regions of Odisha, benefiting more than 600 students through a mix of educational, awareness, and recreational activities during the summer vacation, officials said on Friday.
Holistic Learning Beyond Classrooms
The camps featured sessions on art, craft, storytelling, quizzes, and brain games, alongside interactive modules on earth sciences, career counselling, and sports. Students also participated in a tree plantation drive, planting over 500 saplings, integrating environmental awareness with experiential learning.
Community and Volunteer Participation
The programme was attended by Karuna Sagar Patel, Block Education Officer (Hemgir), school management committee members, and teachers. Employee volunteering was a highlight, with 26 Vedanta employees contributing 145 man-hours—equivalent to 46 man-days—towards organizing and conducting activities. Their involvement created meaningful learning experiences while strengthening community engagement.
